"Even if you defeated them in the original, do not underestimate them, for we rebuilt them to be stronger, tougher, and meaner." โ Guilhem Marin, Ubisoft
Pre-Fight Checklist
- Hull Armor IV: 30,000 Reales, 400 Metal, 750 Wood
- Broadside Cannons VI: 20,000 Reales, 650 Metal
- Mortar III: 25,000 Reales, 650 Metal
- Ram III: 15,000 Reales
- All 3 officers recruited (Lucy for Perfect Brace, Padre for Ram Dash, Deadman for double volley)
- 30+ crew capacity
El Impoluto โ Northwest
Aggressive rammer. Opens by ramming you immediately.
Phase 1: Don't ram back โ perfect brace instead. Drop explosive barrels behind you and fire mortars as it charges through them. Use chain shots to disable sails โ it can't ram while disabled.
Phase 2: Extended volleys of flaming cannonballs at close range, sweeping outward. Brace and return fire with heated shot broadsides. Match its aggression โ ram back, heavy shot at close range, constant bracing.
HMS Fearless & Royal Sovereign ("The Twins") โ Northeast
Two Man-o-Wars attacking together. They try to surround and pincer you. Never sail between them.
Phase 1: Chain shot to disable one ship. Focus fire with ramming, broadsides, and mortars. Damage both evenly.
Phase 2 (after 1/3 health): Ships drop explosive barrels behind them โ shoot them with swivel cannons or avoid.
Critical: Killing one ship enrages the survivor โ sets itself on fire and becomes hyper-aggressive, constantly ramming. Kill both at roughly the same time, or brace for the enraged fight.
La Dama Negra โ Southwest
Only armored ship. Metal hull plates block swivel cannon critical hits on the sides. Attack front and back only.
Fires fast incendiary mortars โ watch for orange glowing patches on water, then brace.
Phase 1: Chain shots + shrapnel barrels to disable movement. Attack from front and back where armor is absent. Stay medium range, brace mortars, unload heated shot broadsides.
Phase 2: Longer mortar barrages, throws explosive barrels. Shoot barrels with swivel cannons.
Phase 3: Most aggressive โ frequent flaming cannonballs + long mortar barrages. Same strategy: medium range, brace, heated shot.
HMS Prince โ Southeast
The easiest. Fog stalker with 3 phases.
Phase 1: Standard ship battle. Medium range to reduce mortar threat. Heated shot broadsides and swivel cannons.
Phase 2: Speeds into fog, rains mortar strikes. Sail toward it (not directly at it), brace mortars, cut it off.
Phase 3: Same as Phase 2 but faster and further. Stay patient, chase, brace, broadside when close.
